It is very important to perform regular cleanings on your VXA tape drive. Operating your drive without periodic cleanings will result in a significant accumulation of debris into the tape path. Scheduled use of the VXA tape cleaning cartridge, as well as cleaning when drive indicators recommend it, will prevent drive failures, poor drive performance, and unnecessary service calls.
